This Shaker trestle table was originally designed as a conference table for a local law firm. Available in cherry or walnut, with either a boat-shaped or more traditional rectangular top, it makes a lovely dining table for six to eight persons. It is a versatile table that is as strong as it is beautiful.
Joinery/Construction Details: The base is made from carefully selected 8/4 cherry boards forming a very strong 1 3/4″ base. The trestle beam is attached at both ends with a keyed tusk tenon for strength, portability and easy adjustment to accommodate seasonal humidity fluctuations. The thumbnail edge adds elegance and poise to the 1 1/4″ top.
Finish: Hand-rubbed with natural tung oil and then waxed. A sprayed lacquer finish is also available for high traffic applications.
