This Chest of Drawers was inspired by the Newport furniture tradition (circa 1750). The time-honored dovetail joinery of the top, sides and drawer parts, together with the mortise and tenon joinery of the carcass, makes this piece exceptionally strong, durable and beautiful.

Butternut, a member of the walnut family, is native to the Northeastern US and was a popular furniture stock in early America. It features a warm yellowish background tone with linear, flowing dark brown to gray grain markings. For a distinctive wood that isn’t harvested from the rainforest, consider Butternut.

Specialty wood options:

  • Butternut: add $400
  • Walnut: add $600
  • Mahogany: add $600
