Freestanding Cherry Bookcases

These solid cherry bookcases with beaded backs are built in the Shaker style. Each unit measures 48″ wide, 88″ tall, and 14″ deep. The glass doors feature old “wavy” glass and use brass pantry latches. The shelving is 7/8″ thick and adjustable with the exception of the middle shelf. Cherry wood darkens with time and the patina is brought out with a hand rubbed natural oil finish that I apply before the piece leaves my shop.
I delivered these pieces to Massachusetts during the winter, and positioned the bookcases in their nooks on either side of the fireplace. The client and I had a good laugh when we opened the doors and a rush of icy Vermont air spilled out!
The price quoted above is for freestanding bookcases as shown here. Variations on this design will be priced according to the client’s specifications.
Finish: Hand-rubbed with tung oil and waxed.
Hardware: Antique brass hardware (hinges and knobs) is standard. Specialty hardware is available for an additional charge; please inquire when ordering.
