About Hawk Ridge Furniture

Hawk Ridge Furniture is the tradename for Vermont furniture designer / furniture maker Paul R. Donio. In his studio workshop in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, Paul designs and builds unique furniture and cabinetry. From rural vernacular to formal period furniture, Paul strives to create synergy between the unique character of the selected wood and the elements of structure and design.

Choose from the custom furniture depicted in our gallery or contact Paul.  He will work with you to create a piece that expresses your style using the appropriate design, materials and construction methods.

Each piece of furniture is individually crafted using an appropriate combination of modern and traditional furniture-making techniques:  dovetail, mortise-and-tenon and pegged joinery add strength through simplicity; hand-rubbed oil finishes bring out the natural beauty of each species and cut of wood.

From rural vernacular to formal period furniture, Paul strives to create synergy between the unique character of the selected wood and the elements of structure and design.  Working with solid hardwoods of local and exotic origin, Hawk Ridge Furniture provides discriminating design and craftsmanship for clients across the country.

HAWK RIDGE FURNITURE PRESS & EVENTS:

The work of Hawk Ridge Furniture balances the traditional values of early American design with contemporary style and function. Paul Donio has admired early New England furniture and architecture for nearly a quarter of a century.

"The simplicity of design, attention to balance and proportion, choice of materials, and unquestionable integrity of construction present in early New England furniture has always struck a chord in my heart. It is these values that I celebrate in every piece of furniture made here at Hawk Ridge."
